Muramasa Rebirth Gets Release Date for Switch and Switch 2 and 12 Minutes of Gameplay

The Return of the Cult Action Game from Vanillaware

Publisher Marvelous and studio Vanillaware have officially announced the release date for the updated version of the samurai action game Muramasa Rebirth. The game will be available on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 hybrid consoles on February 4, 2027.

Along with the announcement, the developers presented a 12-minute gameplay video demonstrating numerous improvements to the project:

• Updated visuals with higher resolution and smooth animations;
• Dynamic combat system and exploration of colorful locations in feudal Japan;
• Reworked localization with the addition of full English voice acting.

Muramasa Rebirth combines Vanillaware's signature hand-drawn art style, deep blade-switching combat mechanics, and an atmospheric soundtrack that will now sound fresh on modern platforms.
