The release of Grand Theft Auto 6 is one of the most anticipated events in the industry, and most game publishers try to avoid dates close to Rockstar's game. However, Nintendo was not intimidated by the rivalry, scheduling the release of the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time just two weeks before GTA 6.

The writers of the popular late-night comedy show Saturday Night Live (SNL) took advantage of this situation and dedicated a segment to it on Weekend Update, where the protagonists of both games clashed in a funny verbal duel.

Trading jabs and analyzing flaws

In the sketch, Link and Jason got into an argument, mocking the characteristic features of each other's universes:

• Jason teased Link about his habit of smashing other people's pots and his perpetual silence.
• Link, in turn, brought up the years-long wait for the new GTA and the specifics of criminal life in Vice City.

This parody aptly played on the packed fall release schedule and players' interest in both titles.
