Earlier this year, SEGA surprised visitors to its flagship store in Tokyo's Shibuya district by unveiling a life-size Sonic statue containing synthetic "DNA" of the high-speed hedgehog. Now fans have a chance to add a scaled-down version of this bizarre artifact to their own collection — if, of course, they are willing to shell out an astronomical sum.
A Collector's Exclusive for the Price of a Car
The figurine is already available for pre-order on the Japanese online store Kadokawa. Its price is a staggering 3,300,000 yen (approximately $20,000 USD), and that is before shipping.
- Main feature: a capsule with encoded Sonic "DNA" information inside the figurine.
- Release date: January 2027.
- Price: ~$20,000.
It seems it would take quite a few in-game gold rings to afford such an unusual souvenir.
