SEGA is working on a major update to the core mechanics of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and is preparing a crossover with "Avatar" and other new franchises.

SEGA is preparing significant changes for its dynamic arcade racer Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. In addition to planned content additions, the developers are working on a fundamental update to the game.

New Collaborations and Content

The next release for the game will be a pack inspired by "Avatar: The Last Airbender" (Avatar Legends), scheduled for release on October 13, 2026. In this DLC, players will receive:

  • Aang and Katara as playable characters;
  • An Air Glider as a vehicle;
  • The "Lion Turtle Island" track;
  • Themed sounds, emotes, and stickers.

In the future, the developers plan to add collaborations with Bayonetta, Godzilla, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and more.

Major System Changes

As the project's creative director Masaru Kohayakawa reported, the team is actively working on a "huge game specification update." Apparently, the developers will revise and improve key gameplay mechanics. SEGA will present official details and the release schedule for the update a bit later.
