The sci-fi visual novel Gnosia, which once captivated players on Nintendo Switch thanks to its unusual blend of story adventure and social deduction mechanics akin to "Mafia", continues to expand its horizons. Following the release of an anime adaptation, the project has received its own stage production in Tokyo.
Improvisation and multiple endings on stage
A special feature of the play is complete improvisation during the discussion segments: the actors don't just play the roles of familiar characters, but literally participate in a real deduction game based on the "Werewolf The Live Playing Theater" system. Because of this, each performance is unique and leads to different endings—the audience, along with the characters, tries to figure out who is lying and who is telling the truth.
Free stream of the premiere
Performances are taking place at Tokyo's Hikosen Theater from August 21 to September 6. The opening premiere was streamed for free on the official Aniplex YouTube channel.
- Format: 2.5D theatrical stage play with elements of an improvisational game;
- Where to watch: the premiere is available as a recording on the Aniplex YouTube channel;
- Language: Japanese (YouTube auto-translated subtitles can be enabled).
Although there is no official dubbing, fans of the game can appreciate the visual designs, the actors' performances, and the unpredictable tension of real live deduction.
