The developers of Warframe are preparing to release a major new game mode called The Icebind (previously known as Glacial Defiance). The release of the update for all platforms, including the Nintendo Switch family of consoles, is scheduled for October 7, 2026.
Challenging Team Activity for Veterans
The new multi-stage mode is designed for squads of six players and was created specifically for experienced Tenno looking to test their gear builds and teamwork against level 999+ enemies.
- Format: 6-player co-op with voting on mission conditions.
- Access: Via Cephalon Melica at the top of Yuvan Peak using Cryobells keys.
- Restrictions: The mode can be completed no more than three times a week.
- Rewards: A guaranteed Riven Splicer, as well as additional valuable bonuses for completing secondary objectives.
Warframe Creative Director Rebecca Ford noted that Icebind is an experiment, and the team will closely monitor community feedback for further improvements to the mode.
