Series director Naoki Hamaguchi shared new details regarding the development of Final Fantasy VII Revelation, which will be released simultaneously on all platforms, including Nintendo Switch 2, on April 8, 2027.
Multiplatform Without Compromises
In an interview with One More Game, Hamaguchi assured fans that the simultaneous release on devices of varying power—PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Switch 2—did not force the team to make concessions in the gameplay experience.
According to him, the workflow is built as efficiently as possible:
- The main development team is focused on creating the game for PS5 and PC.
- A dedicated porting team adapts the project for other platforms, including Switch 2.
- Each version receives its own optimization, allowing smooth performance to be achieved without scaling back or changing the design.
The Finale of an Epic Saga
In Final Fantasy VII Revelation, Cloud Strife and his companions face the threat of complete world destruction. Aboard the airship Highwind, the heroes challenge Sephiroth in an attempt to stop the Meteor spell. The game will be the culmination of a grand project and the finale of the thirty-year history of the Final Fantasy VII universe.
