Studio Wondoro has announced that the unusual farming bullet hell Air Hares will be released on Nintendo Switch on October 29, 2026. The game will arrive on the hybrid console right away with the major Hare Force Edition update, which adds new pilots and expands local co-op capabilities.
Sow carrots under a hail of bullets
Unlike classic bullet hell shooters, where success is measured by the number of destroyed enemies, in Air Hares the main thing is what you managed to grow. Captain Rabbo Sunskipper flies over arid fields with a plane full of seeds and water. In each level, players must seed and water three carrot patches while dodging attacks from the falcon Gale Gang through storms, rain, and lightning.
Features of the Hare Force Edition update
From day one, the Nintendo Switch version includes plenty of co-op content:
- 5 unique pilots: in addition to Rabbo and her loyal dog Dirk Doggo, Linny Lightfoot, Betty Bunting, and Candy Clayton join the squadron, each with their own stats and abilities.
- Story and Arcade modes: leaderboards for solo and co-op playthroughs.
- Special challenges: rewards for completing levels without taking damage and even "without aggression," relying solely on dodging and defensive parries.
- Atmospheric style: detailed pixel art, hand-drawn story cutscenes, and an original soundtrack.
