Publisher Toei Animation and developer Studio51 have officially announced the release date for the sci-fi visual novel Expelled from Paradise: The Stellar Angel for Nintendo Switch. The game will hit shelves and the digital store on November 26, 2026, with support for English and Japanese.
Sequel to the Cult Anime
The visual novel is a direct sequel to the 2014 feature-length anime film "Expelled from Paradise." The story is set in the year 2400: following a massive catastrophe, most of humanity abandoned their physical bodies for the virtual world of DEVA. The main protagonist, Angela Balzac, renounced digital life and, together with her partner Dingo, settled on the ruined surface of Earth. A new threat—mysterious Paraflora organisms and giant worms—forces the heroes to head to the abandoned city of Svarga, where security agents carrying classified data are also heading.
Game Features and Physical Editions
Players will experience an interactive story where key decisions determine the characters' fates:
- K2 Choice System: determines Angela's emotional state and leads to multiple endings, including tragic conclusions.
- Full Voice Acting: all key scenes in the game feature voice actor performances.
- TIPS Guide: a detailed knowledge base about the universe, characters, and terminology.
In Japan, the game will receive both a digital release and physical copies: a standard edition and a limited edition, which will include a B2-size art tapestry, original soundtrack, a special novel, and an exclusive bookmark.
