Bandai Namco has shared an updated development roadmap for the fighting game DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO for 2026–2027. Specifically, the massive expansion SUPER-LIMIT BREAKING NEO will arrive on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 platforms in 2027.
What Will the SUPER-LIMIT BREAKING NEO Expansion Bring?
As revealed in the latest producer message, the DLC will offer players plenty of new content:
- New solo mode "Limit Breaker Journey" — players will be able to choose their favorite character, develop their stats, and customize skills while participating in various battles and using Battle Arts.
- 4 new story battles (Episode Battles).
- 33 new fighters from various eras of the universe: DRAGON BALL, DRAGON BALL Z, DRAGON BALL SUPER, and DRAGON BALL GT.
- 4 new arenas for spectacular matches.
Free Update and Mechanics
In addition to paid content, the developers are also preparing a free patch with combat system improvements:
- Sparking! Boost: allows spending a substantial amount of Skill Stock to significantly increase attack power in Sparking! Mode (with a temporary stat reduction after the boost expires).
- Chain Blast: a new combo mechanic after knocking an enemy away — switching to a reserve ally to continue the attack with a powerful blast.
- Variations of existing arenas.
The exact release dates for Switch and Switch 2 will be revealed by the publisher later.
