Yanako RPGs studio has released the most massive free update for the retro RPG Doki Monsters: Quest on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. This patch brings to the consoles all the content and improvements the game has received on PC over the past year.
New Modes and Overhauled Gameplay
The developers have significantly expanded functionality based on player feedback. Among the key innovations:
- Three new game modes: monster perma-death, roster restriction to six creatures, and difficulty settings (Normal and Hard).
- Completely updated movement system: the character now smoothly rounds corners instead of stopping in front of every obstacle.
- Improved battles: visual feedback when taking damage has been added, animation positioning in double battles has been fixed, and the game now remembers the selected target for faster combat.
- Mid-battle evolution: reserve creatures can evolve right during combat, and the process can be canceled if needed.
- Customization: added 11 new costumes, a battle speed toggle, and the ability to view monster stats directly from storage.
Currently, Doki Monsters: Quest is also on sale in the eShop with a 69% discount for just $3.99.
