After twelve years of development, the atmospheric puzzle game DESOLUS has finally received an exact release date. The debut solo project by developer Mark J. Myers, published by The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild, will be released on October 15, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Time Travel and Impossible Architecture
Mark J. Myers previously contributed to the creation of such acclaimed masterpieces as Outer Wilds and Manifold Garden, so expectations for his own game are exceptionally high. In DESOLUS, players will find themselves in the midst of a majestic gothic city on the brink of destruction. To avert the apocalypse, they will have to travel between two timelines: the city's past and its ruined future.
Gameplay Features
- Black Hole Manipulations: moving stairs, arches, and debris across temporal dimensions to solve spatial puzzles.
- Escher-esque Aesthetics: location designs are inspired by M.C. Escher's prints featuring impossible geometry and cyclical spaces.
- A Vast World: the city is divided into seven unique districts where players will encounter light locks, complex structures, and an enigmatic guardian capable of shedding light on the cause of the catastrophe.
DESOLUS will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 and other platforms on October 15, 2026.
