A New Extended Look at Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave
Only a few days remain until the release of the new entry in the tactical role-playing saga, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, for Switch 2, arriving on September 17, 2026. The developers decided to fuel player excitement by releasing a detailed 7-minute extended trailer introducing the world and the main characters.
The Dagda Empire and the Threat of World Destruction
The events unfold in the Dagda Empire, which enjoyed a golden age under the rule of the gods. In the capital city of Dagsion, the "Heroic Games" were regularly held, granting the victor the right to have one wish fulfilled. However, five years after one such tournament, the empire finds itself on the brink of ruin due to the resurrection of the demon god Balor, while four key Heroes vanish without a trace.
The progenitor goddess Sothis entrusts the mission of saving the world to the soul of the protagonist, who, using the power of the goddess Fortune, can travel through time and alter the destinies of the characters.
Four Destinies: Heroes of the New Tale
Players will be able to return to the time of the "Heroic Games" and choose their path as one of the four heroes:
- Cai — a young man from the village of Ribeira who, together with his childhood friends, strives to win the games to rescue his imprisoned father;
- Dietrich — a warrior who survived an attack by a giant monster and seeks battle in the capital alongside new companions;
- Theodora — a representative of the Kingdom of Saramis, leading seasoned knights to restore the honor of her goddess and protect her homeland;
- Leda — a gifted musician of noble lineage who left everything behind to take revenge on her father's killer, who is also participating in the tournament.
A key feature of the game is the ability to switch between the heroes' storylines through time travel while maintaining progress across each branch in parallel.
