Publisher RedDeerGames has announced that the atmospheric horror adventure Boreal Tenebrae Act 0 will be released on Nintendo Switch on October 1, 2026. The game is a prequel to the original Boreal Tenebrae, while also serving as a completely standalone story that requires no prior knowledge of the previous installment.
Cosmic Horror and Analog Aesthetics
The game takes place in the decaying town of Tamarack Narrows, where against the backdrop of crisis and a blood-red glow in the sky, a mysterious guest arrives. Instead of the promised salvation, he brings something ancient and terrifying with him. Players will explore the town's final night through the intertwined stories of several characters.
Key Features:
- Multidimensional narrative: the story unfolds from the perspectives of Sarah Walker, her sister Bree, and other residents.
- Analog horror aesthetics: CRT screen styling, VHS static, and retro visuals.
- Classic exploration: fixed camera angles in the spirit of old-school adventure games.
- Atmospheric soundtrack: a smooth transition from nostalgic tunes to unsettling dissonance.
