Studio Broken Arms Games and publisher Focus Entertainment have announced today's release of BioEden, a new cozy city-building and management game about nature restoration, launching on Nintendo Switch 2.
Bring life back to a desolate planet
In BioEden, players take on the role of a Keeper sent by the Cosmic Collective to a barren planet waiting to be healed. The main objective is to build a self-sustaining network of structures working in complete harmony to revive extinct species of creatures.
The gameplay offers a number of engaging ecological mechanics:
- Smart management: collect debris, recycle it into resources, and build solar power plants and water supply systems while balancing energy consumption and pollution levels.
- Ecological restoration: clean up lakes and rivers, restore soil, and dismantle buildings that are no longer needed, leaving no trace behind.
- Rescuing animals: collect DNA samples, create incubation cocoons in specialized domes, and maintain the ideal temperature, humidity, and vegetation for revived species.
- Guild selection: choose from five unique guilds, each with its own abilities, philosophy, and resource management style.
A meditative experience without pressure
The developers emphasize the project's cozy atmosphere: BioEden features no fail conditions or timers. Players can leisurely explore the world, enjoy the sounds of nature, and watch as their actions transform a lifeless desert into a blooming paradise garden.
