Independent studio Atlantis Studio has released its asymmetric cooperative horror adventure Beyond the Dark: Nightwatch exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 console.
True cooperative horror for two
Beyond the Dark: Nightwatch was built from the ground up specifically for two-player co-op. The game combines an eerie atmosphere and strategic thinking in an escape room format where surviving alone is impossible. The developers took care of player convenience: the game includes a free Friend’s Pass, meaning only one participant needs to purchase the game. What's more, the second player can join even from the original Nintendo Switch version via local network or online!
Asymmetric gameplay
Players take on completely different interdependent roles:
- First player: explores a dark and claustrophobic house in first-person, searches for clues, and solves mysteries while trying not to fall into the clutches of THE ENTITY.
- Second player: manages a network of surveillance cameras and tactical tools, coordinating their partner's actions and warning of danger.
Key features of the game:
- True co-op: gameplay where communication is the only key to salvation;
- Asymmetric exploration: piecing together information from radically different perspectives;
- Atmospheric haunted house: anomalies, secrets, and unseen threats at every turn;
- Friend’s Pass support: play together with only one copy needed.
