Ubisoft's long-delayed title returns to narrative roots

According to new reports, the long-suffering Beyond Good & Evil 2 is still in active development, despite nearly 18 years having passed since its initial announcement. The project has survived numerous reboots, leadership changes, and conceptual shifts.

As revealed, the game's vision has undergone significant changes:

• Focus on a solo campaign: the game was originally planned as a large-scale multiplayer project, but has now been refocused into a story-driven single-player adventure.
• Optional co-op: cooperative playthrough will remain possible, but it is no longer mandatory for a comfortable gaming experience.
• Pre-production stage: despite years of development, the project is still forming its final foundation and mechanics.
