Nintendo dodged questions regarding the absence of Master Quest in the Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake

Eiji Aonuma avoided giving a direct answer to questions about the absence of the Master Quest mode and potential DLC for the Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake.

Ahead of the release of the updated The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, fans discovered a disappointing detail: the remake does not include the Master Quest mode—a more difficult version of the game with redesigned dungeons and more dangerous enemies. This raised many questions about whether this content could appear later as DLC.

Eiji Aonuma's Response

IGN journalists spoke with series producer Eiji Aonuma and directly asked about the absence of Master Quest, as well as whether the team considered including unused content from the development of the original Nintendo 64 version.

The producer gave a rather cautious and evasive response:

“Of course, every time we release a game, if the developers have an opportunity to consider future possibilities, we want to keep those doors open and support their ideas. However, at this point, we are not ready to announce anything specific.”
