NIS America, together with the creators of the cult horror series Yomawari, have announced the release of the game Village in the Shade. The cozy yet mysterious farming simulator with traditional Japanese aesthetics is now available to players on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
Welcome to Kagatsu
The game is set in the picturesque Japanese mountain village of Kagatsu, filled with ancient secrets. In this hand-drawn simulator, you will be able to grow crops, decorate your own homestead, fish, hunt, and make friends with the unusual locals.
You will be able to fully enjoy the peace of rural life: relaxing by the stream or admiring the cherry blossoms during traditional festivals. However, there are a few strict rules to follow: do not talk to strangers, do not leave the village boundaries, and under no circumstances go outside at night.
A Special Mode for Those Who Fear Horror
For those who prefer exclusively cozy farming without horror elements, the developers have prepared a special mode called Village in the Sunshine. In it, the rules cannot be broken, allowing you to enjoy meditative farming at your own pace without the fear of encountering something otherworldly.
Key Features of the Game:
- Home Customization: buy furniture in town, craft fences and decor from gathered resources.
- Festivals and Entertainment: participate in summer festivals and cherry blossom viewings, bonding with your neighbors.
- Secrets of the Past: uncover the truth about Kagatsu at your own risk, or follow the rules to stay safe.
Village in the Shade is now available for purchase on the digital eShop.
