Studio Iron Gate and publisher Coffee Stain Publishing have officially released their hit survival simulator Valheim on the Switch 2 platform. The release took place simultaneously with the launch of the long-awaited massive expansion Deep North.
Features of the Switch 2 Version
The developers made sure that the version for Nintendo's next-generation console received a full range of conveniences and technological features:
- Full crossplay: the ability to play together with friends on all available platforms (up to 10 players per session).
- Gyro controls: precise aiming using built-in sensors.
- HD Rumble 2 support: improved haptic feedback for deeper immersion into the harsh survival atmosphere.
- Touchscreen controls: convenient inventory and menu navigation using the console's touchscreen.
New Deep North Biome and Complete Content
Valheim offers a procedurally generated world in Norse purgatory, where players must prove their strength to the gods. Along with the release on Switch 2, the game now features eight full biomes, including the Mistlands, Ashlands, and now the final frozen region — the Deep North.
The northern lands were once the home of the first Vikings, but now they are an extremely dangerous and cold wasteland inhabited by ancient monsters such as gammeltrolls, elakingar, and barka, with an even more ancient evil lurking deep underground.
