Return to the true spirit of adventure
If you were worried that the upcoming Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis would be too simple and forgiving for players, representatives of the Crystal Dynamics studio are quick to dispel those doubts. In a recent interview, User Experience Director Jeff Adams emphasized that the team strives to give players the joy of making discoveries on their own.
According to the developer, the creators aim to avoid intrusive hints and artificial "hand-holding":
“We want to give players the opportunity to explore the world on their own, go on a search, and find things they didn't even expect to come across. The point is to feel the spirit of adventure: push forward, get lost, and find your way back. That is precisely what brings the greatest satisfaction during the journey through the game's world.”
A modern reimagining of the classic
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is a story-driven adventure game that serves as a large-scale reimagining of the iconic 1996 debut title. Players will once again take on the role of Lara Croft as she embarks on a dangerous journey around the world in search of the secrets of Atlantis.
The developers promise to preserve the signature spirit of the original while introducing modern innovations:
- Modern graphics and reimagined gameplay;
- Familiar puzzles refreshed with new mechanics;
- Atmospheric locations with ample room for exploration;
- Epic cinematic encounters, including the legendary battle with the T-Rex.
