Publisher and developer Team17 has officially announced The Escapists 3, the continuation of the cult sandbox prison escape simulator series. The new installment is being developed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, and the next-generation console Nintendo Switch 2.

In The Escapists 3, players will once again take on the role of an inmate seeking freedom at any cost. To pull off a daring escape, they will have to adhere to a strict prison routine, steal and craft necessary tools, complete tasks for other inmates, and thoroughly explore the territory.
Key features of the new installment:
- New levels and scenarios: from classic correctional facilities to high-tech futuristic complexes with unique challenges.
- Expanded crafting system: even more item combinations for creating tools, disguises, and weapons.
- Cooperative mode: plan an escape together with friends both in local mode and via online multiplayer.
- Optimization for Switch 2: enhanced graphics, fast load times, and full support for the new console's features.
The developers promise to present an exact release date and a detailed gameplay trailer in the near future.
