Bandai Namco has published a new character trailer for the remastered version of the cult role-playing game — Tales of Eternia Remastered. The video is dedicated to the story's main protagonist, Reid Hershel.
Return of the JRPG Classic
The remaster's release is scheduled for October 16, 2026, on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The updated version of the 2001 classic game will offer both enhanced graphics and numerous QoL improvements.
The story follows Reid and his friends — Farah, Keel, and the mysterious Meredy — who embark on a dangerous journey to stop the collision of two worlds, Inferia and Celestia. They will have to seek the power of the Greater Craymels and overcome their own inner doubts.
Features of Tales of Eternia Remastered
- Graphics and Sound Switching: players will be able to switch between remastered and original visual effects and sounds at any time.
- Convenience and Customization: Boost option to adjust experience gained and random encounter rates, objective navigation markers, and battle speed-up during auto mode.
- Modern Combat Features: Battle Retry, Quick Recovery, as well as new difficulty levels — Extreme (available immediately) and Unknown (unlocked after completion).
- Performance: a stable 60 frames per second on both consoles and up to 4K resolution on Switch 2.
