Bandai Namco has shared a new trailer for Tales of Eternia Remastered, introducing players to the character named Max. The remastered version of the classic Japanese role-playing game will be released on Switch and Switch 2 on October 16, 2026.
New Features and Improvements
The remaster of the cult JRPG will feature not only updated visuals, but also a number of modern quality-of-life improvements:
- The ability to freely switch between updated and original graphics and sound effects.
- 60 fps support on all platforms and up to 4K resolution on Switch 2.
- Customizable experience gain and random encounter rates (Boost feature).
- High-speed mode for auto-battle, quick health recovery, and a battle retry feature.
- Extreme difficulty mode available from the start and a new ultra-hard Unknown option after completing the game for the first time.
The story follows Reid Hershel and his friends as they attempt to stop a catastrophic collision between two worlds — Inferia and Celestia.
