Although Square Enix has not officially announced Octopath Traveler 3 yet, the developers are already making their first hints. It is practically confirmed that a new installment of the popular role-playing game will see the light of day sooner or later.
Almost a decade of success
It is hard to believe, but the Octopath Traveler series will soon turn ten years old. Since its triumphant debut at the beginning of the Nintendo Switch life cycle in 2018, the franchise has grown significantly. During this time, players have had the chance to enjoy several projects:
- The original Octopath Traveler, which pioneered the unique HD-2D style.
- The full-fledged sequel Octopath Traveler 2.
- The prequel Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent.
High fan expectations
Square Enix representatives note that they are well aware of how much the community is waiting for a sequel. As Nintendo prepares to transition to a new generation of consoles, the next installment of Octopath Traveler has every chance to become one of the main releases for the Switch 2.
