Long-Awaited Integration of Classics with Modern Cloud Storage
Pokémon Trainers, prepare your storage boxes! The Pokémon Company has confirmed that next week the Pokémon HOME service will receive a major update that will add full compatibility with the classic games Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen.
Previously, the developers had announced support for these retro hits for October 2026, and now the release is officially heading into the home stretch. Thanks to the update, players will be able to seamlessly transfer their favorite monsters from the Kanto region to the series' broader ecosystem.
What the update will bring:
- The ability to import Pokémon from FireRed and LeafGreen directly into Pokémon HOME;
- Pokédex updates and preservation of unique characteristics of caught creatures;
- Improved stability of the cloud service on Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms.
The exact release date of the patch is expected in just a few days at the beginning of October.
