MAGES has announced a new occult suspense game titled Shikai (Peeping Ghost). The project is being developed by the team behind the popular Science Adventure series (STEINS;GATE, CHAOS;CHILD), but this time the developers have moved away from the scientific concept toward pure supernatural horror.
Immersion into the Mystic
Unlike previous games in the series, where all mysteries were explained by logic and science, in Shikai players will face phenomena that science is unable to explain.
- Beginning of the story: the plot originates from the mystical tale "The House with the Red Roof," which was previously published on the studio's YouTube channel.
- Blurring the lines: the game breaks the fourth wall—the horror moves from the screen to the player, making them a direct participant in the occult events.
- Release date: the release of Shikai on Nintendo Switch is scheduled for winter 2026.
