Nintendo has announced another increase in the cost of repair services in Japan. The changes will take effect next month, on November 16, 2026, and will apply to both the Nintendo Switch family of consoles and the new Switch 2 system.
Reasons for the increase in service costs
In an official statement, the company explained its decision by citing the continuous rise in the cost of replacement components and logistics expenses. The updated price list will affect the following key services:
- Replacement and restoration of the motherboard with the central processing unit (CPU board);
- Repair and replacement of display modules (LCD panels);
- Maintenance of other internal hardware components of the devices.
Currently, the rate update applies only to the official service center in Japan, but the company reminds users to handle their consoles carefully to avoid costly out-of-warranty service.
