Full list of new features in the cult classic for Switch 2
Ahead of the release of the fully updated version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo Switch 2, numerous details have emerged regarding gameplay, interface changes, and brand-new features not present in the 1998 original.
Key changes and new mechanics:
- New item: The Business Scrub Seed allows you to summon a Deku merchant anywhere you throw the seed.
- HUD settings: Normal, Pro, and Master modes have been added. Pro mode hides hearts and equipment, while Master completely turns off the interface.
- Voice acting and dialogue: Cutscenes have received full voice acting, the dialogue system has been significantly expanded, and new response options have been added.
- Hall of Fallen Foes: A new arena where players can fight defeated bosses again.
- Increased inventory: 5 bottle slots are now available instead of 4, and Link's starting wallet holds 200 Rupees right from the start.
- Switch 2 microphone: You can now hum ocarina tunes with your voice or play them on a real instrument — the console's microphone recognizes the notes.
- A fresh look at locations: Castle Town has received a full third-person camera with free look.
- Puzzles and dungeons: Puzzles in the Forest Temple have been significantly reworked, and the method for obtaining the Kokiri Sword has changed.
In addition, the game has received a full symphonic soundtrack, a quest log, support for the ZELDA NOTES app, and the announcement of two new amiibo figures for 2027. The game is set to release on November 5 on Switch 2.
