According to updated Nintendo server data, the game's download file size has been cut almost in half. While initial reports pointed to roughly 17 GB, following optimization the size is now just 9.83 GB. Therefore, you won't necessarily need to rush out and buy a new high-speed microSD Express memory card to install the game.
What Awaits Players in Nintendo Switch Sports Resort
The game is scheduled for release on October 22, 2026, exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2. The game will offer both dynamic competitions and relaxing entertainment for the whole family:
- 12 sports: from archery controlled with Joy-Con 2 controllers to boxing and thumb wrestling.
- Wuhu Island exploration: free roaming on a skateboard, jet skis, or light aircraft across land, water, and sky.
- Character customization: creating your own Sportsmates or transferring your favorite Mii avatars.
