NIS America is preparing to release the game Village in the Shade, which will launch on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on October 27, 2026. Previously, the developers promised two free updates with new content, and details have now emerged about the day-one patch that will become available right at launch.
Main Character's Birthday
Players will gain the ability to set their character's birthday. To unlock the event, certain conditions must be met:
- Village in the Shade Mode: reach Year 2 and spend at least one day after completing the main story.
- Village in the Sunshine Mode: reach Year 2 and spend at least one day after Nago moves to the village.
After fulfilling the conditions, the player will receive a letter that triggers the event. On the day of the celebration, villagers with an affection level of 3 or higher will congratulate your character and may even prepare a special gift.
New Tool: Seeder
After restoring the crossroads shrine to at least level three, the seeder will become available at the general store. It allows players to simultaneously sow seeds, plant saplings, and spread fertilizer across an area of 3 tiles ahead. Like other farming tools, it can be upgraded at the anvil to increase its range of effect.
Plumbing Fixture Series
After obtaining a fox hunting permit, players will unlock access to a bathroom furniture line. It includes 10 new items for home decorating: a bathtub, shower, bath stool and bucket, toilet, toilet paper holder, wall towel, sink, and partitions.
