2K and Visual Concepts have shared the first details of the debut season of NBA 2K27. The headliner of the first season is San Antonio Spurs forward and 2025–2026 Defensive Player of the Year Victor Wembanyama, who also graces the standard edition of the game.
Updates and Rewards in The City
In The City mode, players will earn experience points (XP) for every match played, climbing the seasonal progression ladder. Key rewards include:
- Level 16 — Orange Swirl hoverboard;
- Level 29 — Cyber Robot Eyes;
- Level 36 — Minnesota Lynx mascot "Prowl";
- Level 39 — Ninja Suit: Apprentice;
- Various Skill Boosts, cosmetics for MyPLAYER, and new Badge Tokens.
Double XP (2XREP) weekends and special activities are also returning — the dynamic Midway mode and the bingo-style Blackout event, where players can earn virtual currency (VC) and exclusive apparel.
What's New in MyTEAM
Thanks to the Expanded Exchange system, players can trade any player cards for elite rewards. Key seasonal cards include:
- Level 1 — Amethyst Bam Adebayo (Miami Heat);
- Level 28 — Amethyst Coach Mike Brown (New York Knicks);
- Level 35 — Dark Matter Olivia Miles (Minnesota Lynx);
- Level 40 — prestigious Dark Matter Derrick Rose card (Chicago Bulls).
New York Soundtrack and Pro Pass
Season 1 is dedicated to the basketball culture of New York's legendary Rucker Park. The soundtrack will feature tracks from East Coast icons, including Busta Rhymes and Mobb Deep. Owners of the Pro Pass and Hall of Fame Pass will be able to unlock an additional 40 levels of premium items.
NBA 2K27 will be released on September 4, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC (Steam), and Nintendo Switch 2.
