The developers of the monster-taming deckbuilder Montabi have released festive update version 1.1.1, timed for Halloween. The patch brings a new monster, skill reworks, convenient UI features, and optimization for the Nintendo Switch hybrid console.
New Montabi: Liliac
A new monster has arrived in the game — the vampiric Liliac with the passive ability Finisher Heal. Its skill set focuses on lifesteal, heavy attacks, and building an advantage from taking damage:
- Starting Cards: Move, Punch (x2), Defend (x2), Crimson Toll (x2), Night Stalker.
- Legendary Skills: Pulse Exchange, Blood Feast, Death Bite, Feast of Pain, Spinning Cut, Eternal Hunger.
- Evo 3 Passive Skills: Charred Borne, Fresh Start, Pain for Brawl.
Blizblaze Rework and Balance Changes
Based on player feedback, the Self Burn playstyle for Blizblaze was not effective enough, so the developers reworked its key skills Thermo Drift and Afterburn Fuel, and added the new legendary skill Overheat Burn, removing the outdated Domino Effect.
Adjustments were also made to the cards Sweet Surge and Echo Heal (no longer exhaust), Tide Waste, Looter’s Revenge, as well as resonance and armor stickers.
Quality of Life, Performance, and Fixes
- Added a setting to speed up UI animations in the settings menu.
- Added a Reroll button to the Convenience Store.
- Added the ability to skip rewards after battle completion.
- Improved cursor visibility on the battlefield.
- Optimized overall performance, specifically improving stability and smoothness on Nintendo Switch and less powerful devices.
- Fixed a bug with unlocking the Whole a Lot Montabi achievement.
