Capcom has announced pleasant news for monster hunting fans: the free demo Monster Hunter Wilds: Prologue Demo will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 19, 2026.
The Beginning of a Great Journey
As the name suggests, the demo will allow players to experience the beginning of the story campaign. Best of all, all earned progress can be seamlessly transferred to the full version of the game after its release on December 4, 2026.
Prologue Demo Features
- Local multiplayer: you will be able to play with friends over a local network, but online mode will not be available in the demo.
- Pre-orders: simultaneously with the release of the trial version on October 19, digital pre-orders for the game will open on the Nintendo eShop.
- Performance test: this is a great opportunity to see firsthand how the massive game looks and performs on Switch 2.
In Monster Hunter Wilds, the Forbidden Lands await you with dynamic climate changes, dangerous predators that adapt to weather conditions, and an updated hunting system with an expanded selection of gear and tactical maneuvers.
