Metaphor: ReFantazio is officially heading to Nintendo Switch 2
During today's Nintendo Direct broadcast, ATLUS made a major announcement: the critically acclaimed role-playing game Metaphor: ReFantazio will be released on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 12, 2026. At launch, fans will also be able to purchase a limited edition in a stylish steelbook (Steelbook Edition).
In Metaphor: ReFantazio, players will have to overcome their own fears, plunging into a vast fantasy world full of eerie mysteries. Finding yourself in a kingdom on the brink of ruin, you will need to overcome obstacles and forge bonds with allies to take destiny into your own hands.
Game success and technical details
The project has already proven its success on other platforms, becoming ATLUS's fastest-selling game, with over a million copies sold on release day. The game received a score of 94 on Metacritic and won a number of awards at The Game Awards, including in the categories for Best Role Playing Game, Best Narrative, and Best Art Direction.
In addition to the release date, thanks to a display box, its size has become known. To install Metaphor: ReFantazio, Nintendo Switch 2 owners will need:
- 65 GB of free space on the console's storage drive or memory card.
