Independent studio Fancy Factory has officially released KABOOMANIA — a dynamic retro game that reimagines the classic "maze bomber" genre, and it is now available on Nintendo Switch. This project offers a unique gaming experience, successfully combining time-tested mechanics with modern ideas.
Features of the game KABOOMANIA
- Huge world: 1000 handcrafted levels distributed across five themed worlds.
- Enemies and power-ups: Dozens of unique opponents with different behaviors and powerful explosive power-ups for dynamic confrontations.
- Multiplayer: A chaotic 4-player local battle mode, perfect for having fun with friends on the same couch.
- Authentic graphics: True pixel art in 320x256 format using the 128-color AGA palette from the legendary Amiga 1200.
A special pride of the developers is the exclusive soundtrack by Chris Hülsbeck — a famous composer whose music defined the sound of an entire generation of Amiga games (Turrican, The Great Giana Sisters). For modern platforms, such as the Switch, the musical accompaniment has been fully adapted, providing a cinematic sound without any loss of the original retro atmosphere.
The KABOOMANIA project successfully passed its Kickstarter campaign. And although the game initially originated on original retro hardware, its explosive gameplay can now be appreciated by absolutely all owners of modern consoles.
