Studios Button Factory Games and CobraTekku Games (CTG) have officially announced the development of their new game — The End of Allegoria. The project will be a direct sequel to the dark JRPG The Edge of Allegoria, which previously drew attention with its classic Game Boy aesthetic and uncompromising storyline.
The release is planned for 2027 on PC and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console, and visitors to the gamescom exhibition in Cologne will be among the very first to check out the initial developments.
Apocalypse and New Mechanics
The events of The End of Allegoria unfold many years after the finale of the original game. Following a prolonged period of peace, the deity of the Void has plunged the world into chaos. The sudden awakening of supernatural powers in humans led to anarchy, brutality, and the total collapse of society. Players will control several characters trying to survive among the ruins and prevent the ultimate end of Allegoria.
Key features of the sequel:
- Tactical combat system: the developers have transitioned to party-based turn-based tactical battles in a magical post-apocalyptic world;
- Flexible class system: over 50 diverse classes divided into three tiers, allowing the creation of countless unique builds;
- Massive open world: updated familiar locations and more than 300 new open areas with secrets, dungeons, and potential companions;
- Dark atmosphere: an even more mature and tense narrative tone, where the fate of the universe entirely depends on the player's choices.
