The classic sci-fi action game from the NES era, SHATTERHAND, has been officially announced for the Nintendo Switch. The game will be released as part of the JALECOlle Famicom series, and its digital release is scheduled for this September.
The grim future of 2030
The game's events unfold in the year 2030. A group of military renegades called Metal Command, led by General Gus Grover, plans to conquer the world using an army of cyborgs. The main protagonist is Steve Hermann, a young police officer from the Bronx, who loses both arms in a brutal skirmish with criminals. However, the Law and Order Regulatory Division (L.O.R.D.) gives him a second chance by offering state-of-the-art cybernetic prostheses. Receiving the codename "Shatterhand", Steve embarks on a mission to destroy Metal Command.

The modern re-release will delight both newcomers and experienced players thanks to a number of useful new features:
- Features for beginners: intuitive time rewind that allows you to instantly correct a mistake, as well as quick saves and loads anywhere.
- Speedrun timer: record your best completion time from the first level to the final boss.
- Achievement system: various goals to test your skills.
- Extra materials: a special section with original packaging illustrations, manuals, and promotional flyers.
- Screen settings: visual filters, stylish wallpapers, and an option to reduce edge distortion.
