Get Your Engines Ready for Fierce Racing!
Nintendo has announced a new European online tournament, European September Slipstream, in Mario Kart World exclusively for the next-generation Nintendo Switch 2 console. The competition will run throughout the entire weekend — from 11:00 AM Kyiv time on Saturday, September 26, to 11:00 PM on Sunday, September 27, 2026.
How the Rating System Works
At the start of the event, every participant begins with a rating of 3,000 points. Depending on your placement in each race, your rating will rise or fall. You can play as many races as you like — after the allotted time ends, your final score will be locked on the overall leaderboard.
How to Join the Tournament
To take part in the competition, you will need a Nintendo Switch 2 console with internet access, the Mario Kart World game (updated to the latest version), and an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription (even the free 7-day trial is eligible).
- In the game's main menu, select Online Play.
- Press the – button to choose Search for an event.
- Enter the 4-digit tournament ID: 4245.
- Confirm your selection and head out onto the track!
If you enter the code before the official start, you will be able to practice using tournament rules in advance.
Rewards and Leaderboards
Approximately one week after the tournament concludes, a list of the top 100 racers will appear on the official Nintendo website. In addition to the global top rankings, separate leaderboards for the top players for each individual character will be published. All participants who finish at least 8 races are guaranteed to receive 50 My Nintendo Platinum Points.
