Sean Murray thanked players on the 10th anniversary of No Man’s Sky

Sean Murray thanked players on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of No Man’s Sky, noting that during this time less than 1% of the planets in the game have been explored.

Ten years of space exploration

Head of Hello Games studio Sean Murray addressed the community with words of gratitude in honor of the 10th anniversary of the space sandbox No Man’s Sky. The game, which has overcome a difficult path from a problematic release to one of the most massive projects in the industry (and feels great on the Nintendo family of consoles), continues to surprise with its scale.

Uncharted universe

In his short but emotional address, the developer shared impressive statistics regarding player activity:

  • Despite millions of players around the world, in ten years less than 1% of all planets have been discovered.
  • The procedurally generated universe of the game remains a practically uncharted space for new discoveries.
  • The community continues to steadily receive massive free updates that expand the gameplay and improve performance.

"I am sincerely grateful to every player who embarked on this journey with us," Murray noted. Even after a decade, No Man’s Sky remains a shining example of the developers' dedication to their project and boundless love for the gaming community.
