Late '90s survival horror atmosphere
Publisher DreadXP and developer Vincent Adinolfi have released the psychological retro-horror Heartworm on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 consoles just in time for the spooky October season.
The game's plot tells the story of a girl named Sam who is trying to cope with the pain following her grandfather's death. In search of peace of mind, she explores internet forums about the paranormal, which eventually leads her to an abandoned mansion high in the mountains. What began as an attempt to find answers quickly turns into a fight against otherworldly forces, where the girl's only weapon is her camera.
Game Features:
- Spirit of the golden age of horror: visual style of the original PlayStation, cinematic camera angles, retro effects, and optional classic "tank" controls.
- Puzzles and survival: mechanics inspired by the iconic Resident Evil and Silent Hill, where the camera is used for self-defense and interacting with the world.
- Compact and rich story: an atmospheric 4-6 hour adventure with a captivating soundtrack and multiple endings.
Heartworm is already available for download in the digital store for Switch and Switch 2 users.
