There are ordinary tycoon simulators, and then there is Grave Mistakes — an upcoming indie game built around the concept of a funeral home with an extremely dark secret. The project combines daily management of the establishment, physics-based chaos, body horror, and dark humor.
A Funeral Business with a Double Bottom
In Grave Mistakes, players take control of the Good Mourning Funeral Home — the only one in town, and therefore critically important to the community. By day, you will have to greet grieving families, conduct funeral ceremonies, and embalm bodies. However, at night, the game turns into a real nightmare: a grandmother who has lost her human form lives in the building's basement and demands fresh human remains.
Every day, she presents a specific list of required body parts that must be fulfilled before family dinner. If the order is not completed, the consequences will be extremely unpleasant for the main character.
Physics, Deception, and Co-op
The gameplay balances between time management and physics-based comedic chaos:
- Quick body processing: Remains decompose quickly, so you need to work with them promptly.
- Creative limb replacement: Severed body parts must be disguised with makeshift items — for instance, replacing an arm with a shovel and a head with a basketball so that relatives do not suspect anything during the ceremony.
- Online co-op: The game supports cooperative play with proximity voice chat.
- Parlor development: The ability to upgrade the establishment, play the organ during memorial services, and uncover family secrets.
Currently, the exact release date and the list of target platforms for the project have not yet been announced.
