Frostpunk is coming to Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on October 19

11 bit studios is releasing Frostpunk on Nintendo Switch on October 19, with full support for Switch 2. Launch discounts of 30% on the base game and 35% on the Complete Edition with three expansions will be available, and the demo and pre-orders are already live.

Polish studio 11 bit studios has announced the release date for Frostpunk on Nintendo consoles. The society survival strategy game set in perpetual winter will arrive on Nintendo Switch on October 19, 2026, and will feature full support for Nintendo Switch 2.

Frostpunk was released on PC in 2018 and has since been regarded as a game that redefined the survival city-builder genre. The player becomes the ruler of New London, the last city on Earth, clinging to life around a massive generator amidst a frozen wasteland. To ensure the people survive, you will have to make tough moral decisions and live with their consequences.

Critical Acclaim

In its time, Frostpunk received the "Best PC Game of the Year" award from Windows Central and "Best Simulation Game of the Year" from PC Gamer, as well as a BAFTA nomination for Narrative Achievement.

Editions and Launch Discounts

The game will be released on Switch in two versions:

  • Base Game, with a 30% discount at launch;
  • Complete Edition, with a 35% discount at launch. It includes three expansions: The Rifts, The Last Autumn, and On The Edge.

Pre-orders and a demo version are already available.

What Awaits Players

  • The Law. You establish the rules of society: working hours, healthcare, food rations, and other vital aspects of daily life.
  • Shaping Your Society. At turning points, you will have to decide where to lead your people: rule with an iron fist or guide them along the path of compassion and faith.
  • The Weight of Decisions. People believe in you, but their devotion is not limitless. Leadership can become a burden.
  • Technology. Survival demands progress. React to current events, but never forget to invest in long-term development.
  • Expeditions. Beyond New London lies the Frostland. Outings are risky, but they yield valuable knowledge, supplies, and new citizens.
  • Endless Play. Endless Mode offers unlimited replayability, while Serenity Mode lets you build your city peacefully without excessive pressure.
