Grand Finale of the Remake Trilogy
The long-awaited final installment of the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy has finally received an official release date. The game, titled Final Fantasy VII Revelation, will be released on the next-generation console Switch 2 on April 8, 2027.
In the new installment, Cloud Strife and his loyal companions face the threat of complete world destruction. Sephiroth approaches godhood, and the destructive magic of Meteor hangs over the planet. The heroes take to the skies on the legendary airship Highwind to fight the final battle.
Complete Freedom of Movement and New Mechanics
The developers promise a massive boundless open world that can be freely explored using the airship:
- Seamless drops: players will be able to parachute to any point on the planet directly from the Highwind.
- New playable characters: skilled marksman Vincent Valentine joins the fray with his ferocious beast transformations, along with the fiery pilot Cid Highwind with his spear.
- FITS System: the ability to equip unique costumes that grant characters ability sets of the series' classic jobs, such as Black Mage or Warrior.
- Hybrid combat system: an expanded tactical mode combined with dynamic real-time action.
Players will also be able to visit faithfully recreated locations, including the Mideel archipelago, the warrior nation of Wutai, and the snowy wastes of the Northern Continent.
