DragonSword: Awakening will be released on the Nintendo platform (Updated)

Following its success on PC, the developers of DragonSword: Awakening have confirmed plans to release their open-world anime action game on Nintendo, tentatively targeting the Switch 2.

After reaching the milestone of 200 thousand sold copies on PC, developer HOUND13 officially announced that the game DragonSword: Awakening will be released on Nintendo platforms. Initially, the developers did not specify whether it was for the original Switch or the Switch 2, but a recent update clarified the situation.

August 14 Update: Focus on Switch 2

According to an internal Q&A from HOUND13, the team is specifically targeting the release of the game for the Nintendo Switch 2. When asked about the release date, the studio replied:

  • "Interest is confirmed, but it requires Nintendo developer status, porting on the UE5 engine, and Lotcheck certification. Timelines have not yet been determined."

What is known about the game?

DragonSword: Awakening is an open-world action game created in anime style on Unreal Engine 5. Players are invited to explore the vibrant continent of Orbis, team up with unique companions, and utilize an engaging combat system.

  • Living open world: Explore boundless meadows, secret cellars, deep seas, and hidden dungeons.
  • Team battles: The game features 19 unique heroes. You can combine active skills and status effects to create devastating attacks.
  • Deep storyline: The plot revolves around a young man named Lute, who gets caught up in a whirlwind of mercenary adventures. Together, they will have to confront a Dragon that has awakened after 60 years of slumber.
