Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 developers take extra time for refinement
Fans of the iconic Dragon Ball universe are known for their meticulous attention to detail, and the reaction to the upcoming action-RPG Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 clearly demonstrated this. Although the announcement of the series' return after so many years sparked a wave of enthusiasm, the first gameplay footage from studio Dimps somewhat disappointed players.
The greatest community outrage was sparked by a controversial design decision: the developers introduced a time limit for remaining in the Super Saiyan form. To fans, this approach seemed like an unjustified step backward compared to previous installments.
Release postponed to 2027
After listening to numerous pieces of feedback and community criticism, publisher Bandai Namco together with Dimps decided to postpone the release of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 to the second half of 2027. The team plans to use this additional time to re-evaluate the balance and fix controversial mechanics, which players were only too glad to hear.
