Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for the upcoming expansion DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO SUPER-LIMIT BREAKING NEO, focusing on characters from the iconic Dragon Ball GT universe. The release of this massive expansion on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 is scheduled for 2027.
New Content and Solo Mode
As the developers reported in a letter to players, the DLC will add a new single-player mode called Limit Breaker Journey. In it, users will be able to choose their favorite fighter, develop their skills, customize stats, and participate in numerous battles across a global map.
In total, the expansion will offer:
- 33 new characters from the Dragon Ball, Z, Super, and GT franchises;
- 4 new Episode Battles story fights;
- 4 new arenas for spectacular clashes.
Free Update and Mechanics
Along with the expansion, the game will receive a free update that will bring fresh mechanics for deeper gameplay. The Sparking! Boost mechanic will allow spending gauge reserves in Sparking! mode to further increase attack power, although it will temporarily lower stats after the effect ends. The Chain Blast system will allow continuing an attack after knocking an enemy back, instantly switching to a reserve ally to deliver a devastating combo.
