Return of the classic in a new light
Donkey Kong Country is one of the most famous games in the Nintendo library, released on the Super Nintendo in November 1994. Just 7 months later, the Game Boy received Donkey Kong Land. This project turned out to be not just a port of the SNES hit, but a full-fledged game with unique content.
What did the original Donkey Kong Land hide?
Although the game borrowed some graphics, levels, and music from Donkey Kong Country, it had many exclusive elements. Those who skipped the game, considering it a worse version, lost a real treasure, because it offered:

The modification fans have been waiting for
The Game Boy had obvious hardware limitations, so the graphics were black and white (or greenish). That is why a modder under the nickname Kasquez decided to create a visual remake, bringing Donkey Kong Land closer to its older brother.
Now you can see your favorite game in bright colors using the original sprites from the SNES. In addition to the visual update, the author of the modification also improved the controls and sound quality, making the gameplay even more enjoyable. Although the original game plays wonderfully even today, this fan work is definitely worth the attention of all retro platformer fans.
