The game Danganronpa 2x2 is preparing for release on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 in early 2027, and it will bring many surprises for fans. One of the main new features will be the Slayhem Mode, which will offer alternative stories with different victims, culprits, and tricks.
No one is safe
Series creator Kazutaka Kodaka is actively involved in development and personally decides who survives this time. Although he knows perfectly well which characters from Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair are fan favorites, the popularity of the heroes does not matter to him at all.
In a recent interview for RPG Site, Kodaka noted that he is ready to kill anyone, regardless of players' sympathies:
- He will kill popular characters without any hesitation.
- New cases and events in Slayhem mode will reveal previously unseen traits of the heroes.
- Kodaka asked fans not to send him angry letters over the deaths of their favorites.
So prepare for a completely new scenario where anyone can survive, and the rules of the game will change drastically.
