In July, Culdcept BEGINS was released on the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 consoles, and today the developers shared the project's first major milestones. Across these two platforms alone, total worldwide sales of the game surpassed the 100,000 copies mark.
Return of a Cult Classic
The Culdcept series, originated by studio Omiya Soft back in 1997, is considered a true gem among fans of the blend of board and collectible card games. Culdcept BEGINS became the first new full-fledged installment in the franchise in the past decade.
Key features of the project:
- Deep gameplay mechanics: a combination of classic dice rolling for movement across the board with strategic card usage for territory capture and battles.
- Huge variety: around 400 unique cards are available in the game, from which players build 40-card decks tailored to their own playstyle.
- Engaging storyline: the story of a young Cepter named Kamru during a large-scale conflict on the continent.
The total circulation of all games in the Culdcept series over its more than 25-year history has already exceeded 1 million copies, and the new release successfully continues this tradition.
